Lynn Hosking & Peter Diffin
219 Avery St.

The home was originally owned by Mr. Webber, a professor at Agnes Scott, who lived there with his family for more than 30 years. When the house was renovated in 2008 the layout was changed in many ways, from kitchen and staircases to master bedroom and bath.

The stair railing was built by Lynn’s father from her design. The mural in the banquette was painted by local artist Holle Black. Ferns in the sunroom were painted by Sara Anderson, and the Sun Flowers painting is by Roswell artist Laura Watson. Lynn and Peter believe that decorating with nature helps keep their spirits up in the darkest months.

Lynn grew up in Decatur. Her mother was a principal in the school system and she is a Decatur High School graduate as well as a teacher there. She says that the students are much like they were when she went to school there – talented, diverse, and great to spend time with.
