Mary and Chuck built their home in 2009 and look forward to celebrating their first Christmas there. The house that originally stood on the property had a bad foundation due to non-compacting soil, so the owners had to tear it down. In its place they built a house that has achieved the highest level of “green” certification in the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED program. Working with Robert Cain, architect, and builder Robert Soens of Pinnacle Construction, the homeowners created a building where the line between indoors and outdoors is blurred. They are very pleased with the effect and enjoying living in a very comfortable house.
The furnishings in the home are mostly items that the Bossermans already owned, but were rethought and restyled by the young architects in the design firm. The wonderful tables in the dining room were gifts of the architect and builder; designed by the architect and built by a craftsman. In the spirit of being “green” the family will reuse their cherished holiday decorations, making their new home shine on their first Christmas there.
