Tamara and Lynne have lived at 350 Adams Street since June 2005. They enjoy living within MAK because of their appreciation for the neighborhood’s historic architecture and mature landscape, MAK’s friendly neighbors, and the feeling of living within a developed, idyllic, “well-rooted” neighborhood.
Tamara and Lynne are excited to be on the 2007 tour because they want to support a tour featuring MAK homes. They have some exciting ideas for how to showcase their home and the neighborhood.
Construction and Design
The home is a single-story Craftsman bungalow with an expansive front porch and brick siding. The Centennial Committee is conducting further research on the origin of the home’s design and its overall history.
The home was constructed in 1921 and is a three-bedroom, two-bath home with approximately 2,000 square feet of living space and a single fireplace. The home also has a full attic space and basement. The home’s interior was renovated by a previous owner in 2001-2002 and is in fantastic shape.
Tamara and Lynne’s furnishings and decorating style are eclectic and contemporary. The home is decorated in multiple bright colors. Lynne and Tamara also have interesting personal items on display including a commissioned portrait of the couple over the home’s front mantel, selections of folk art, pieces of African art and African cloth dolls, and various drawings, sketches and water colors.
The home’s front yard is landscaped with shade-loving shrubs and perennials. The back-yard, which the couple intends to have lit-up for the tour, has a deck and hardscaped water features.
Tamara and Lynne really enjoy decorating for the holidays and decorate their home’s interior with strings of lights in various rooms. They are excited to decorate for a holiday tour.
